I wanted to write a blog to share all of the details of our upcoming webinar —Content-Centric: The New School of Collaboration Tools— but then I realized I should probably back up and explain what in the world we mean by content-centric collaboration?!
As you know, AeroFS has evolved to be more than just a file sync and share software company. We recently identified the need to streamline the content collaboration process. You know the one – create a document, share it via email asking for feedback, your client or teammate downloads said file, they make changes, and they save and share it again via email. A week later the file is buried in email and the great inbox search begins! It’s the same story for everyone we speak with about content collaboration. So with a robust file sharing tool in place we set out for something bigger, something to end the pains of file collaboration. Because after all, we rarely just share a file and call it a day, right?
The rapidly evolving cloud-based digital world has changed expectations of how people engage with each other – particularly how content is ‘put to work’ across an extended enterprise that often encompasses consultants, partners, suppliers, customers, etc. as well as employees on site. We found that there are many tools out there to help you collaborate better but none were centered around content collaboration. Many are about tasks, projects, timelines, etc., but at the root of it all is almost always files – content that needs a collaborative effort to move forward to completion. So that’s what we mean by content-centric collaboration. We think the functionality of these tools should be all about content collaboration.
We would love the opportunity to explain it in more detail at the live stream next Wednesday, April 19 at 10:00 a.m. PDT /1:00 p.m. EDT. We’ve pulled in an expert, Craig Wentworth, Principal Analyst at MWD Advisors, to discuss how organizations use cloud, content, and collaboration technologies to effectively share knowledge and improve operations. Yuri Sagalov, CEO and co-founder of AeroFS, will also share his perspective on next-generation collaboration solutions and provide a sneak preview of our flagship collaboration product, Amium.
